Junior Lab Project
For a final lab assignment during the laboratory class ME 646: Experimental Measurement & Data Analysis, I worked with a group of three other students to examine the drag on a pickup truck. For this examination experiments were done with a model truck which were compared against SolidWorks simulations. Both of these cases utilized a Reynolds scaling to be able to extrapolate real world significance. Four cases were examined; tailgate up, tailgate down, tailgate up with a tonneau cover, and tailgate up with wheel well covers.
